
Case Studies: Coffee and Tea Preservation
Our premium clean label preservative blend, expertly designed for tea, coffee, and other polyphenol-rich plant-based beverages, is built on a foundation of high-purity cultured dextrose to effectively prevent mold growth. It also incorporates a specialized natural ingredient that helps combat oxidation, preserving the vibrant color and rich taste. Ideal for less acidic (pH 3.5 to 5) tea beverages, this blend is also a perfect fit for coffee-based drinks.
Hot Brewed Teas
Brewed in boiled water for 3 min, stored at room temperature (mimic shelf stable ready to drink tea). No further pasteurization.
Black Tea control ingredient: black tea, citric acid, stevia extract, dextrose. First sign of spoilage was observed on day 7.
Black tea Preserved Ingredients: black tea, citric acid, stevia extract, dextrose, special blend (cultured dextrose +another natural ingredient).
On day 21, control black tea became darker and had significant signs of spoilage (mold globs), while the preserved tea remained vibrant yellow as day one. On day 30, the control tea smelled musty and mildewy, the preserved tea still maintained fresh tea smell.
Green Tea control ingredient: black tea, citric acid, stevia extract, dextrose. Mold glob was observed on day 5
Green tea Preserved Ingredients: black tea, citric acid, stevia extract, dextrose, special blend. Cloudy residue (not mold glob) observed on day 21, still smell good. Industrial pasteurization will further extend its shelf-life
Hot brewed tea is cloudy, the color difference between black and green tea is not as significant as cold brewed teas. Cold brewed tea is transparent and has more vibrant color.










Cold Brewed Teas
Cold brewed 2 hours for green tea and 4 hours for black tea, water used is bottled purified water, no further pasteurization before bottling. Stored at room temperature to mimic shelf-stable ready to drink tea.
Black tea control ingredient: black tea, citric acid, stevia extract, dextrose
Balck tea preserved Ingredients: black tea, citric acid, stevia extract, dextrose, special blend (cultured dextrose +another natural ingredient)
Green tea control ingredient: green tea, citric acid, stevia extract dextrose
Green tea preserved Ingredients: green tea, citric acid, stevia extract, dextrose, special blend
Controls showed signs of spoilage on day 3, preserved had no sign of spoilage. On day 9, both controls showed strong sign of spoilage (mold globs), the preserved saw some tiny solid sediment, which is considered normal.
